Capsule Geology

The Kinskuch Group B showing is located about 1.4 kilometres east of Kinskuch Lake, between it and a glacial tongue, about 24 kilometres north of Alice Arm and 48 kilometres southeast of Stewart.

The rocks mapped in the area consist dominantly of Lower Jurassic Hazelton Group intermediate flows and pyroclastics (inferred to be andesitic in compostion) with a minor component of various sediments. The exposures are generally fresh with only minor, usually barren quartz veining. A grab sample (33609) assayed 0.23 per cent lead, 0.16 per cent zinc, 23.5 grams per tonne silver, 0.14 gram per tonne gold, 0.07 per cent copper and 4.3 per cent mercury; no description is provided of the rock sample (Assessment Report 20088). Mineralization is assumed to be similar to that of the Big Bulk occurrence (103P 016) located about 2.5 kilometres south where mineralization comprises disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite in quartz vein stockworks and in volcanic country rock.

In 1989, Dolly Varden Minerals Inc. conducted a program consisting of reconnaissance geological mapping, prospecting, limited pan concentrate silt sampling and rock sampling.
